Former President Donald Trump has been indicted by a US Jury barely over a week after the former president hinted on Truth Social about his imminent arrest.
Trump had, over a week ago, announced on his social media platform, Truth Social, that he would soon be arrested.
Although he had said he would be arrested last week Tuesday over charges from a New York prosecutor, he was not arrested.
However, on Friday, the former president became the first president in US history to be indicted by a jury.
Why Trump Said He Would Be Arrested:
The former US president believed he would be arrested because of alleged payments to some women who accused him of sexual assault.
We overcame the Russia hoax.
We overcame the Mueller witch hunt.
We overcame two impeachment shams.
We will OVERCOME Alvin Bragg’s political prosecution.
Just remember, they’re only after Trump because he fights for YOU!https://t.co/2iZAB55a1L pic.twitter.com/1S5Vaf0GYc

He feared that a New York prosecutor is mulling charges against the former president for paying women who claimed Trump assaulted them sexually to keep quiet.
Jury Indicts Trump:
As he rightly predicted, a US jury has indicted Trump, even though the jury has not yet revealed what charges it is indicting Trump.
Nevertheless, the charges would not be unconnected with an alleged hush money payment made to adult performer, Stormy Daniels in 2016.
READ: Breaking News: Donald Trump Posts On Truth Social That He’ll Be Arrested Tuesday
Mr Trump had ordered his former fixer, Michael Cohen, to pay Ms Daniels for her silence.
Ms Daniels had revealed that she had sexual intimacy with Trump after he had married.
Because she had brought the allegation in 2016 when Trump was contesting for the US Presidency, the former president informed his fixer, Cohen, to pay Ms Daniels so she could keep quiet.
Mr Cohen alleges he was directed to give her $US130,000 ($193,000) and conceal the nature of the payment as a legal expense.
What Then Happens; Will Trump Be Arrested?
Well, the founder of Truth Social will not be arrested yet.
This is because, an indictment is not yet warrant for arrest. It is a formal notice of criminal charges against someone.
So, you don’t expect to see Trump being arrested and handcuffed like a common criminal.
Trump would have to, all by himself, turn himself over voluntarily for interrogation. He will move from his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida to New York City.
He would report at the New York City District Attorney’s office for the proceedings.
Also, according to insider knowledge of the grand jury proceedings, the trial would be secret.
However, a warrant of arrest will only be issued on Trump if he fails to report for interrogation.
Meanwhile, should the situation come to arrest, Trump will not be immediately arrested.
This is because, Officials would need to negotiate with Florida for permission to extradite the former president to New York.
Trump Reacts:
Meanwhile, in a statement, the former US president said the indictment is a witch-hunt against him.
In a statement, Mr Trump declared “this is political persecution and election interference at the highest level in history.”
He described the charges as part of a “witch hunt” by “the radical left”.
Florida governor also reacts:
Meanwhile, the Florida governor, Ron De Santis, has said Florida would not support or assist in Trump’s arrest.
The Florida governor is contesting the 2024 presidential race with Trump, among other aspirants.
In a twitter statement, Ron De Santis said he had “no interest in getting involved” in Trump’s arrest.
The weaponization of the legal system to advance a political agenda turns the rule of law on its head.
It is un-American.
The Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney has consistently bent the law to downgrade felonies and to excuse criminal misconduct. Yet, now he is…
