Tweeps are currently mourning the death of Chinelo, a medical doctor who was shot by terrorists while onboard Abuja-Kaduna train.

Chinelo had taken to Twitter to send an SOS message wherein she called for prayers.

She had tweeted notifying the general public that she was shot by bandit terrorists who attacked their train.

The medical doctor had also tweeted that she had sustained gunshot wounds, and asked everyone to pray for her.

Her tweet had said, “I’m on the train. I have been shot. Please pray for me.”

Recall that some bandit terrorists attacked the Abuja train going to Kaduna with over 1000 passengers.

The terrorists had bombed the train while also shooting many others.

Late Chinelo’s case took the center of discuss following the inhumane response she got from tweeps she called for help.

However, a number of many tweeps had, instead of showing empathy, tweeted what others say are cruel comments as response to Chinelo’s plea for prayers.

Her pleas was dismissed for clout chasing by those who called her bluff, even without due diligence.

A colleague of hers, Dr Michael Ajidahun sho spoke to Punch, revealed Chinelo later died of the gunshot wounds.

Dr. Ajidahun who answers “The Bearded Dr Sina” on Twitter,  said thus:

“My friend just woke up to losing a close friend who was shot at the Abuja Kaduna train incident by terrorists.

“She tweeted yesterday that we should pray for her. Sadly she didn’t make it. She was a Doctor. Nigeria why…I’m heartbroken.”

The doctor said, Chinelo “studied Dentistry. She was travelling in the Abuja-Kaduna train and had tweeted that she had been shot but some people thought she was tweeting for clout.

“A mutual friend, who is a doctor at the hospital where she was taken to confirmed she had died this morning.”

Tweeps condemn handles that called Chinelo’s pleas bluff:

Meanwhile, those handles who dismissed as bluff late Chinelo’s call for prayers are being shamed for being inhumane.

Tweeps have continued to call those behind the handles out, accusing them of trivialising serious issues.

Below are the hot condemnations:

Popular influnecer, MrMacaroni, @mrmacaronii, tweeted saying thus:

“Those same set of people that attacked the late Chinelo are the same set that attacked and trolled me when the police brutalized me. These are sycophants who are loyal only to their political gods. They care not for this country and have no conscience whatsoever left in them.”

For Lady S, @Stephadamu, “Dr Chinelo was making an honest living, she was working at St Gerald’s hospital in Kaduna, she wanted more for herself and processed her papers to leave this hell-hole. She resigned last month to leave the country this Friday then this happened. Nigeria why?”

Another tweep, NEFERTITI, @firstladyship said thus:

“Gbenga Gold, Iyabo Awokoya (AKA Mama Poverty), Woye & Ishaka are some Buhari supporters & SW APC who mocked Dr. Chinelo for alerting us of the imminent treat to her life. They equally led the #EndSARS Lekki Tollgate Killings denials. Remember their names, don’t ever forget them!”

Dami’ Adenuga, with handle, @DAMIADENUGA said Chinelo was just consoling a victim who lost a loved on in a train attack only for her to fall victim too.

Implications:

Lately, the social media, especially Twitter, has become a place where people show no empathy.

Perhaps, because of many makes and incorrect happenings on Twitter, many quickly believe things with a pinch of salt.

Meanwhile, the case of Dr. Chinelo is one sad case that became victim of this toxic Twitter atmosphere.

Nevertheless, technology has equally become a place where people try to inculcate morals and fight injustice, inhumane behaviours, atrocities and the likes.

Tweeps never forgets any action anybody takes.

Therefore, people must learn to get the facts straight first before commenting on any issue.
