The new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk has granted what he called a general amnesty to all suspended accounts on the platform.

Musk said the amnesty will begin nest week.

The billionaire came to the conclusion following a poll he conducted on the platform.

The Twitter pool saw about 72.4% of those who voted telling Musk to grant general amnesty to all the suspended accounts.

Conversely, 27.6% of the total number of voters voted against Musk reinstating the suspended accounts.

This general amnesty is coming just days after Musk reinstated the former president of the United State of America, Donald  Trump.

Donald Trump’s Twitter account was suspended by the former leadership of Twitter after he was accused of inciting the violence at the US Capitol.

However, upon assuming ownership of Twitter, Musk conducted a poll on whether to reinstate Trump or not into the platform.

After the poll which had about 15 million persons participate, 52% voted on the affirmative for Trump to be back on the platform.

Elon Musk‘s Wednesday’s poll asking to grant a general amnesty to all suspended Twitter accounts equally saw majority voted in the affirmative.

Musk asked in the poll:

“Should Twitter offer a general amnesty to suspended accounts, provided that they have not broken the law or engaged in egregious spam?”

After the poll, a total of 3, 162, 112 tweeps voted and out of this number, 72.4% said yes to the move while 27.6% voted against.

After the poll, Musk announced that the first batch of amnesty on all suspended Twitter accounts will begin next week.

Musk will reinstate the account of Donald Trump’s former adviser’s Steve Bannon.
