Infinix NOTE 60 Pro Review: Infinix Finally Decides to Compete

Spread the love

After a week with the Infinix NOTE 60 Pro, I can confidently say this is not the same Note series we’ve seen in the past. This feels like Infinix stepping into a different league. It feels more deliberate, more polished,

But does it fully deliver? Mostly yes. Completely? Not quite.

Let’s break it down.

Design: Premium Materials and a Little Bit of Drama

The NOTE 60 Pro uses a solid aluminum alloy frame with a matte finish that feels noticeably more refined than previous generations. It weighs about 201 grams and sits at roughly 7.36mm to 7.45mm thick depending on the color variant, which makes it feel solid but not overly bulky.

The slim bezels help the 6.78-inch display feel immersive, and the curved edges make it comfortable to hold for  prolong period of time. The phone is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the front, giving it a more premium feel.

Now let’s talk about the elephant on the back. The Active Matrix Display.

This small interactive LED panel lights up for notifications, animations, Pixel Pets, and even mini games. It sounds unnecessary on paper. But in  real life, it adds personality. (Explain how it does in a sentence or two).

I did not expect to enjoy it, but I ended up checking it more often than I thought.

It is flashy, but it is not useless.

Display: Bright, Fast, and Surprisingly Impressive

The NOTE 60 Pro features a 1.5K resolution AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 4500 nits peak brightness. That number of nits matters especially when you are outside. I can see my phone screen clearly  under bright  sunlight.

Thanks to the 144Hz refresh rate, scrolling feels smooth. Gaming feels fluid. Watching HDR content looks vibrant without the colors being  overly saturated.

It is also engineered with low blue light filtering and PWM dimming for better eye comfort during long sessions, which I noticed during late night usage. It is subtle, but it helps.

Performance: This Is Where It Gets Serious

This is the first time Infinix has used the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 5G chipset in the Note lineup. That alone changes the narrative.

Compared to the NOTE 50 Pro, which leaned more toward balanced midrange performance, the jump here feels more intentional and performance-driven. You can read my full NOTE 50 Pro review here.

The device reportedly scores over 1.1 million on AnTuTu, and honestly, it feels like it. Apps open quickly. Multitasking feels stable. Switching between heavier apps does not cause stutters the way older models sometimes did.

Gaming performance supports up to 120 FPS in titles like Mobile Legends and Honor of Kings. During longer sessions, the 3D IceCore vapor chamber cooling system helps reduce temperature by up to 3 degrees Celsius under load. I noticed warmth, but not discomfort.

It feels consistent. That consistency matters more than raw power numbers.

Memory configurations go up to 12GB RAM with extended RAM support and up to 512GB storage in certain variants. That gives this phone breathing room for long term use.

Camera: Solid, All day Round

The main camera is a 50MP OIS Night Master sensor paired with an 8MP ultra wide lens. There is also a 13MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

Low light photography is where I was most impressed. The sensor gathers noticeably more light than I expected, and images retain decent detail without looking overly processed.

It supports 4K video recording at 30 frames per second, which is respectable for this segment. Daytime shots are sharp and consistent, though not revolutionary.

This is not a camera phone trying to beat ultra flagship competitors. But it is going to give them a run for their money with stronger than expected performance.

Battery and Charging: Built for Real World Use

Battery capacity varies by region, with 6500mAh and 6000mAh variants available. I tested the larger battery version, and endurance was excellent. Heavy usage did not leave me searching for a charger halfway through the day.

Charging is where things get interesting. The NOTE 60 Pro supports:

  • 90W wired fast charging
  • 30W wireless charging
  • Bypass charging during gaming

On the 6500mAh model, it can reach 50 percent in about 16 minutes and 100 percent in roughly 41 minutes.

There is also something called Battery Self Healing technology, which is designed to recover small portions of battery health over charging cycles and extend lifespan up to several years. Whether that holds up long term remains to be seen, but the ambition is clear.

Extra Features That Actually Matter

There are some additions that I genuinely appreciate:

IR blaster
Yes, this is still here. You can use the phone as a remote control for TVs, air conditioners, and other appliances. It sounds old school, but once you use it, it is surprisingly practical.

• IP64 splash resistance
The phone is protected against dust and light splashes. It is not built for swimming, but it gives you peace of mind in rain or accidental spills.

• Built in health monitoring
There are integrated tools for tracking heart rate and blood oxygen levels. It is not a replacement for medical equipment, but it adds an extra layer of utility for quick wellness checks.

• Three years of OS updates
You are getting major Android updates for three years, which means the phone will stay current longer than many devices in this category.

• Five years of security updates
Longer security support adds real long term value. This is the kind of commitment I did not expect from Infinix a few years ago, and it shows the brand is thinking about longevity.

Final Thoughts After a Week

The NOTE 60 Pro feels like Infinix stepping up.

I was impressed by the performance stability, the immersive display, and the massive battery. I was slightly skeptical about the Active Matrix display at first, but it grew on me. The camera is good without pretending to be extraordinary.

This phone is not subtle. It is expressive, slightly dramatic, and ambitious.

And honestly, that ambition is what makes it interesting.

If you want minimal and predictable, this might not be your pick. But if you want a device that feels powerful, lasts long, and actually tries something different, the NOTE 60 Pro is one of the most compelling Infinix phones I have used in years.
