Election Results By States will clearly give you a quick understanding of how the results came in and which states each candidate won in the general election that took place in Nigeria on Saturday.
The #NigerianElections2023 took place on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 as over 80 million voters were expected to cast their votes in the exercise.
Out of the over 93.5 million registered Nigerians, 87.2 million stormed polling units across the country to vote.
The Presidential Election took place side-by-side across the country with the senatorial/Federal house or representatives elections as the world wait for #INECElectionResult.

INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu opened the National Collation Centre for the collation and announcement of presidential election results in Abuja by 1 pm of Sunday, February 26, 2023.
Presidential candidates:
18 presidential candidates appeared on the ballot, with four being the most popular ones with greatest chances of winning the position.

The top four are Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP); Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP); Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
Number of votes a candidate must clinch and states to win to emerge President:
According to the Nigerian electoral act, a candidate must win the highest number of votes from the total votes cast across the country.
Also, the candidate must also win at least, 25% of the total votes in at least 24 states out of the 36 states and the FCT.
So, what this means is that for any of the candidates to emerge as Nigeria’s president to succeed president Muhammadu Buhari, such a candidate must win highest votes as well as at least 25% in at least 24 states.
After the announcement, Tinubu of the APC won other candidates to emerge winner of the election.
Tinubu polled a total of 8,794,726 votes to defeat other candidate.
He also scored over 25 per cent of the votes cast in 30 states, more than the 24 states constitutionally required.
On the other hand, while Atiku of PDP polled a total of 6,984,520 votes in the election to come second, Peter Obi of the Labour Party came third with a total of 6,101,533 votes.
Meanwhile, Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP came fourth with 1,496,687 votes.
