Amazon In ‘Danger’ As TikTok Launches TikTok Shop For Businesses

TikTok shop

Tiktok Shop for businesses is video-sharing app, TikTok’s new feature to support businesses.

Following this, Amazon is now in stiff competition.

TikTok Shop is the social media’s in-app feature that allows businesses cite their virtual shops on the platform so buyers can buy directly from them.

This development is in direct competition with Amazon which is an online shopping company.

On the video sharing app’s Shop, users can now make purchases directly through the app.

What TikTok is saying about the new feature:

According to the social media app, it launched the new feature to help  improve the commerce ecosystem and support businesses.

“We’ve seen the positive impact of TikTok Shop, and we’re excited to continue experimenting with this new commerce opportunity to support businesses of all sizes.”

TikTok says the Shop will only be available to businesses in few select countries for now.

The technology company officially began testing the feature in the U.S. this week.

It was previously only available in the UK and seven countries in Southeast Asia.

Also, TikTok is currently inviting select U.S. businesses to participate in the initiative.

That means live streamers from places where the feature is not live will need to continue directing shoppers to third-party websites.

The video sharing social media technology has over 2 billion downloads by users in 150 countries.

People have flocked to the mobile app which presents them with a stream of algorithmically selected short videos filled with music, dancing, cooking demos, and other short bits of user-created entertainment.
