Apple will be launching its new iPhone on Tuesday, October 13, 2020.
Reportedly, it’ll be the most critical iPhone event to happen in years.
The direction of this launch is, by far, different from Apple’s conventional way of launching its products.
In September, Apple released the new Apple Watch Series.
However, it pushed forward the launch of its new iPhone to October.
Usually, Apple launches its new products in September and begin sales immediately.
Unfortunately, things are unable to go that route this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
What you should know
The pandemic hit a lot of companies.
Prestigious ones such as Apple included.
The pandemic and lockdown season resulted in a lot of employees working remotely.
That interfered with the progress of developing new products.
Why this year’s launch will stand out
For starters, the exteriors will be redesigned. It’ll be the first change since the 2017 iPhone X launch.
The 2020 launch will feature the outer edges of the iPad.
According to Apple, the new iPad will come in flatter edges.
The company also intends on releasing four different iPhone categories.
Each phone will have different screen sizes and prices.
As a bonus to production, some of the devices will support 5G technology.
However, that technology isn’t thoroughly developed, so you might run into challenges when trying to make use of it.

It’ll have a 6.1-inch screen.
- The iPhone 12 Pro.
It’ll also have the same scene size. However, with “pro” implied, it’ll have higher specifications.
- iPhone 12 Pro Max.
This will have a 6.7-inch screen.
It’ll also be the most massive iPhone screen ever, surpassing the iPhone 11 Pro Max which has a 6.5-inch screen.
How soon will sales begin?
Apple has followed the trend of starting sales immediately after the launch of a new product.
However, this year, not all products will be immediately available on the market.
What you need to know about the launch event
According to Apple, the event will have a time frame of two hours.
For obvious reasons such as the ongoing pandemic, the event will be virtual and pre-recorded.
However, the fact the event will be virtual doesn’t deter consumers away from the launch.
Last month, for the launch of the watches, almost 2 million audiences were tuned in.
