Osinbajo, Pantami To Flag Off National MSME Clinic In Gombe

Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibajo will on Tuesday flag off the National MSME Clinic in Gombe State.

Osinbajo will be joined by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami.

The clinic is aimed at supporting the ease of doing business in Nigeria by providing shared facilities with access to broadband connectivity, automation of processes, a one-stop-shop, among others.

This is in line with the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy for a Digital Nigeria launched and unveiled by  President Muhammadu Buhari.

About The National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS)

The National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy has been developed to reposition the Nigerian Economy in order to take advantage of the many opportunities that digital technologies provide.

This Digital Economy Policy and Strategy document is based on the FMoCDE’s 8-pillars for the acceleration of the National Digital Economy for a Digital Nigeria. The 8 pillars are:
1. Developmental Regulation;
2. Digital Literacy & Skills;
3. Solid Infrastructure;
4. Service Infrastructure;
5. Digital Services Development & Promotion;
6. Soft Infrastructure;
7. Digital Society & Emerging Technologies; and
8. Indigenous Content Development & Adoption

National MSME Clinics

The Nationwide Micro Small and Medium Enterprise Clinics for Viable Enterprises (National MSME CLINICS) is an initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The MSME Clinics is a collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, State Governments, and key federal agencies such as; BOA, BOI, CAC, DBN, FIRS, ITF, NAFDAC, NITDA, NEXIM, NEPC, RMRDC, SMEDAN, SON, etc.

Some of the critical areas the National MSMEs try to focus on in other to improve the level of production of the economy are access to finance, information dissemination, access to market, skill acquisition/capacity building, business registration, amongst others.

One of the objectives of the clinics is to create enabling environment for effective dissemination of information on Federal Government Policies, Initiatives and Programmes designed for encouraging and providing support for the activities and growth of MSMEs.
