Most “gaming phones” completely miss the point. They’re built for people who want to show off AnTuTu scores, not for anyone who actually spends hours playing Mobile Legends or PUBG. These devices prioritize benchmark bragging rights over features that matter during real gameplay, then slap a $1,200+ price tag on top for good measure.

Infinix took a different approach with the GT 30 Pro. Instead of chasing meaningless spec sheet wins, they focused on what mobile gamers actually need: sustained performance, intelligent cooling, responsive controls, and a price that won’t require selling a kidney. After testing the Gaming Master Edition for the past week, I can say they largely succeeded. If you’ve been waiting for a gaming phone that prioritizes your experience over impressive-sounding numbers, this is it.
SoC: MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate 5.5G
RAM: 12GB (up to 24GB extended)
Storage: 256GB / 512GB
Battery: 5500mAh
The GT 30 Pro Gaming Master Edition delivers genuine gaming improvements at a reasonable price, with thoughtful cooling accessories and features that actually enhance gameplay rather than just looking flashy.
Pros
- All-Day Full FPS System actually works
- GT Trigger shoulder buttons are excellent
- Magnetic cooling accessories are clever
- Gaming aesthetic won’t appeal to everyone, especially non-gamers
Price, specs, and availability
Infinix hasn’t announced Nigeria pricing yet. The Gaming Master Edition includes the magnetic cooling fan and thermal case, which would typically cost extra. It’s available in three colours: Dark Flare (the RGB version), Blade White, and Shadow Ash.

The GT 30 Pro Gaming Master Edition (bottom) includes the magnetic cooling accessories that would typically be sold separately, making it better value than the standard version despite the higher upfront cost.
A gaming phone that doesn’t take itself too seriously
I appreciate that Infinix didn’t go overboard with the gaming aesthetics. Yes, the Dark Flare edition has RGB lighting, but it’s tasteful rather than gaudy. The Mechanical Light Waves system responds to notifications, calls, and in-game actions with subtle lighting effects that feel more premium than gimmicky.
The build quality is solid for the price point. At 189 grams and 7.99mm thick, it’s not the lightest phone around, but it doesn’t feel like a brick either. The matte finish on the back helps with grip during extended gaming sessions, and the IP64 rating provides basic protection against dust and splashes.

First impressions matter – the GT 30 Pro’s packaging and presentation feel premium without being wasteful, and the phone’s mecha-inspired design is bold without crossing into tacky territory.”
That’s not to say the design is perfect. The camera bump is substantial, causing table wobble when the phone is lying flat. It’s a minor annoyance, but one you’ll notice if you’re used to gaming with your phone on a desk.
Gaming performance that’s honest about its limitations
The MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate isn’t going to set any benchmark records, and Infinix doesn’t pretend otherwise. What it does deliver is consistent performance optimized for the games people actually play.
I’ve been testing with PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends, and Call of Duty Mobile, and the experience has been smooth across the board. The All-Day Full FPS System isn’t marketing fluff — games like MLBB run at genuine 120fps with the right settings, and the phone maintains stable frame rates even during intense matches.

The 3D Vapour Cloud Chamber Cooling system keeps temperatures reasonable. Even after hour-long gaming sessions, the phone stays comfortable to hold. I’ve seen other “gaming phones” that get uncomfortably hot within 20 minutes, so this is a real improvement.
Gaming performance won’t satisfy enthusiasts who demand maximum settings in every title, but it’s more than adequate for casual and competitive mobile gaming. If you’re someone who plays a few matches during lunch breaks rather than streaming on Twitch, the GT 30 Pro hits the sweet spot.
GT Trigger makes the difference
The capacitive shoulder buttons are the GT 30 Pro’s best feature. Unlike physical buttons that can break or wear out, these touch-sensitive triggers are responsive and customizable. In PUBG Mobile, I mapped them to aim and fire, essentially giving me four-finger control without the hand gymnastics.

The GT Trigger shoulder buttons are positioned perfectly for natural finger placement – no awkward stretching or hand contortions required for four-finger gaming control.
The triggers work outside of games too. I set them to control music playback and camera functions, making the phone more convenient for daily use. It’s the kind of thoughtful implementation that makes gaming phone features useful beyond just gaming.
The Gaming Master Edition accessories actually add value
I was skeptical about the magnetic cooling fan and thermal case until I used them. The MagCharge Cooler is genuinely useful — it provides active cooling while wirelessly charging the phone, and the magnetic attachment is strong enough to hold securely.

- The magnetic cooling fan and thermal case aren’t just flashy add-ons – they’re genuinely functional accessories that solve real problems during extended gaming sessions.
The system enters “Draco Mode” when you attach the cooler, with a slick animation and optimized thermal management. It’s not just for show; the phone stays noticeably cooler during extended gaming sessions with the accessory attached.
The magnetic case integrates well with the phone’s design and supports the full range of magnetic accessories. For someone who games frequently, the cooling benefits justify the added bulk.
Battery life delivers on the promise
The 5500mAh battery easily provides all-day usage, even with heavy gaming. I regularly get through a full day with 4-5 hours of mixed gaming and still have 20-30% battery remaining.
Charging speeds are where the GT 30 Pro shows its budget roots. 45W wired charging is adequate, reaching 0-100% in 56 minutes, and the 30W wireless charging, while welcome, isn’t exactly fast. The Bypass Charging 2.0 feature is clever though — it powers the phone directly during gaming without heating up the battery. An additional feature is reverse wireless charging, so it can charge other devices like AirPods and phones that support wireless charging.
AI features that don’t feel forced
Infinix’s AI implementation is refreshingly practical. The Folax assistant handles cross-app actions well, and features like Magic Voice Changer work as advertised. I particularly like the AI camera tools for removing unwanted objects from photos.

Unlike some manufacturers who throw AI at everything, Infinix focused on features that actually enhance the user experience. The AI gaming tools for titles like Genshin Impact are helpful without feeling like cheating.
Should you buy the Infinix GT 30 Pro?
The GT 30 Pro succeeds because it doesn’t try to be everything to everyone. If you’re a mobile gaming enthusiast who is looking for solid gaming performance, thoughtful features, and reasonable pricing, the GT 30 Pro makes a compelling case.
The Gaming Master Edition accessories push it into “easy recommendation” territory for anyone who plays games regularly. The magnetic cooling system actually works, the GT Trigger buttons enhance gameplay, and the overall package feels cohesive rather than like a collection of gimmicks.
It’s a solid entry — charging is fast, performance is as decent as it gets. For most people who want to game on their phone without breaking the bank, the GT 30 Pro delivers exactly what it promises.
