On the 1st of September 2020, Forbes Nigeria commenced its 5th GSE Annual Digital Career Accelerator.
The 4-week event is in partnership with other stakeholders including Google, AWS, IBM Cloud, e.t.c.
The Global Startup Ecosystem (GSE) is an initiative aimed at digital ecosystem development.
Its mission is to educate, inspire, and prepare individuals and organizations for the digital era.
More so, the platform unites both private and public stakeholders in catering to humanity’s greatest challenges.
To address these challenges, GSE leverages exponential technologies and entrepreneurship.

However, there is a shortage of required digital skills among career professionals and entrepreneurs.
With this at heart, GSE is set to up-skill applicants at its 5th annual digital accelerator program.

While the initiative prepares applicants for a remote digital future, it doubles as a career booster.
Not just that, applicants stand to benefit greatly from the network of stakeholders.
About the program
GSE debuted in 2016 with a focus on career development, personal development, and business development.
Five-years down the line, the accelerator wants to prepare applicants for a remote digital future.
The accelerator also tipped that applicants get to receive $250k in free perks and prizes.
Thanks to this year’s partners, Google Cloud, AWS, IBM Cloud, DigitalOcean, Sendgrid, and Zendesk.
Currently, the application for the Program has ended.
The free Program kicked off on the 1st od September and runs through the 30th of September.
Attendees at the Program cut across small businesses, corporate professionals, startups, and freelancers.
Selection process
Following a regional assessment, 100 applicants were selected each from seven regions.
These regions include Africa, Asia, America, Europe, the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Middle East.
All of which GSE has an established operation.

To meet its 1000 applicant target for the cohort, GSE selects the remaining 300 participants from partner programs within its network.
After the final cohort, 10 applicants will be selected from the regions.
After that, the finalist will pitch to investors and influencers on a ‘demo day.’
At the end of the four weeks program, three startups (winners) will be announced.
Each will be awarded partner prizes in addition to media features and potential investment.
