Tampa Teenage Boy, Two Others Charged in the Upsetting Twitter Hack

Barely two weeks after the Twitter account of prominent politicians, celebrities among other public figures was successfully hacked, the US authorities have been able to track down three lead suspects

A British man, a Florida man and a teenage Florida kid identified as Graham Clark, 17, have been charged as suspects responsible for the Twitter hack that claimed more $100,000 from victims across the globe.

The hack which took place on the 15th of July hijacked the account of prominent figures including Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Mike Bloomberg and a number of tech billionaires including Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

While the hackers took temporal control of those accounts, they sent out series of tweets asking people to send a specific amount of Bitcoin up-to $1000 and get It doubled up. Unfortunately, a lot of victims fell for the trick just before the malicious act was unraveled.

More scary is the fact that the hackers were also able to access personal information such as phone numbers, email addresses of 130 accounts, although were not able to view previous accounts’ password.

Currently, the three suspects have be arrested and further investigation is ongoing.
