Apple Officially Announces Spring Loaded Event for April 20th

Apple's event invite

Apple’s events are always fully packed with heart-tingling surprises. This week, the brand announced that its next event will hold on April 20th (we just can’t wait). Apple made this announcement using an invite with the “Spring Loaded” tagline. It looks all arty and fancy as you’d expect from the brand.

Siri spilled the beans

The first disclosure of Apple’s event date came from Siri. She cheerfully revealed the date when asked” When is the next Apple event?” This happened hours before Apple’s official announcement got out. I guess Siri hasn’t signed the confidentiality agreement yet. So, no repercussions here.

As always, there’s nothing much to go on from the invitation beyond the Apple logo and tingling “spring-loaded” tagline which did hint a little at a new Apple Pencil stylus. We’d never know, maybe one with a clickable button, perhaps or perhaps not.

The event timeline perfectly favors an announcement of new iPad Pros. The new larger model of the 11 and 12.9-inch tablet will reportedly be Apple’s first with a LED display. Although, they are expected to have similar designs as the last year’s models.

There are also rumoured improvements including faster processors with performance in line with the M1 chip used by Apple recently in its Macs. Better cameras are guaranteed to be added on and upgraded USB-C ports seem like another employable option. Also rumoured to be coming in the first half of this year is a new iPad mini with a larger 8.5 to 9-inch screen an improvement from the 7.9 inches last time.

Apple’s AirTags

Apple’s long-rumoured tile competitor – Apple AirTags is another contender scheduled to appear at the event. Despite entering mass production last year, the tracker is yet to be officially announced. People believed it to use the ultra-wideband technology that debuted on iPhone 11 when it appeared in IOS as early as 2019.

There are a couple more devices believed to be on their way this year. Many of them have great chances of making their debut appearance next week. One of the numerous things Apple is reportedly meant to improve and renew this year is its iMac lineup. Apple is expected to make the transition from Macs to its very own Apple silicon processors.

Slimmer bezels and a design that resembles the Pro Display XDR are some of the alleged changes this year. Just last month, Apple announced its confirmation that it would seize to sell its current base model of the iMac Pro once the supplies run out. This points to the suggestion that Apple is scheduled to announce new models sooner rather than later. The new MacBook Pros and a new MacBook Air are reportedly coming this year also. The laptops are believed to be returning with fan-favorite features like SD card slots and MagSafe charging. However, the MacBook Pro’s divisive Touch Bar may just be on its way out of the door.

Apple AirPods

Then there’s the famously anticipated Apple AirPods.

According to a report from Bloomberg made last year, the new version of the truly wireless AirPods should be on its way and have a chance of arriving as early as the first half of this year. They also said the new AirPods are likely to come with Pro-Style elements like replaceable ear tips and shorter stems.

The AirPods Pro could however ditch the stems altogether. Last but not the least, Bloomberg also announced that Apple could be releasing new upgraded Apple TVs in 2021, and this year’s model will focus on gaming and feature a new remote, updated processor, and 120Hz support.
