UAE and other countries have banned Disney And Pixar’s toy movie, Lightyear for containing homosexual scenes.
Disney will reease the movie, which chronicles the adventures of space cadet Buzz Lightyear, later this week.

11 Middle Eastern countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt have banned Lightyear.
The UAE Media Regulatory Office tweeted Monday to give reasons for banning Lightyear.
The film lacks the license “for public screening in all cinemas in the UAE, due to its violation of the country’s media content standards.”
Also, Abu Dhabi and Dubai posted a tweet banning the movie.
In their statement on Monday, they said it was down to a “violation of the country’s media content standards.”

It read: “The Media Regulatory Office announced that the animated film Lightyear, which is scheduled for release on 16th June, is not licensed for public screening in all cinemas in the UAE, due to its violation of the country’s media content standards.”
On the reasons for the ban, Media Regulatory Office Executive Director Rashid Khalfan Al Nuaimi further explained.
She said the countries banned the film because of the inclusion of “homosexual” characters in several scenes.
Similarly, Singapore has equally banned Lightyear from showing in the country.
Also, Lightyear didn’t receive release certificates for Malaysia, Indonesia, Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan and Lebanon.
Marvel franchise star Chris Evans voices the lead character Buzz Lightyear, a legendary space ranger.
The scene in question includes a space ranger called Alisha and her partner who greet each other with a kiss on the lips.
In the film, Buzz’s close friend is a female space ranger who marries another woman.
Also, Galyn Susman, the film’s producer believes China will not show the movie either.
She said Chinese authorities had asked for cuts to the movie, which Disney declined to make.
“We’re not going to cut out anything.
“Especially something as important as the loving and inspirational relationship that shows Buzz what he’s missing by the choices that he’s making.
So, Ms Susman said the homosexual scenes won’t go out.
Homosexuality is a criminal offence in many Middle Eastern and other countries.
In May, Disney refused requests to cut same-sex references in the Marvel movie, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
Saudi Arabia and a handful of other Middle Eastern countries did not show the film.
