Samsung Renovates, Equips, Donates Innovation Hub To Yabatech

World-leading technology brand – Samsung has just unveiled a pioneering innovation hub at the Yaba College of Education (YABATECH).

Samsung’s commitment to execute the new project stemmed from the recognition of the major role that technology plays in nation-building.

Samsung recognizes the role technology plays in nation-building and has created an innovation hub to support the dreams of young Nigerians,” Managing Director of Samsung Nigeria, Mr Danny Kim said.

However, the completion of the new innovation hub was made possible only for the collaborative support from the institution.

Doubling as ‘Innovation campus’ the new hub will support the dreams of young Nigerians; mostly, it will accommodate ICT students as well as those with a keen interest in technology.

According to the institution management led by Dr Adigun Oyeranmi, the new hub will also facilitate new programs that will empower as many students as possible.

Buttressing on the importance of the new project, the Rector of YabaTech, Engineer Obafemi Omokugbe said that the innovation hub is a welcome idea.

He further added that the new development is evident that Samsung has become a part of nation-building while encouraging similar gestures from other corporate organizations.

Of course, this is not the first time that Samsung will be working collaboratively with the State government.

Recall that the company recently donated about 500 smartphones – A2 Core phones – to the Lagos State government in its fight against the deadly COVID-19.

The tech giant has also played a vital role in the rapid digitization of Nigeria at large by redefining the worlds of TVs, smartphones, wearable devices, tablets, cameras, digital appliances, printers, medical equipment, network systems and semiconductor and LED solutions.

What the new lab looks like

Thanks to the collaborative effort of both the school and the private organization – Samsung;  it was easy to transform the former computer lab into an innovation hub that’s worthy of repute.

In the latest upgrade made to the pre-existing laboratory, Samsung equipped the now called innovative hub with new facilities including;

  • 50 Monitors and Desktops
  • Samsung E boards
  • Flip boards
  • Cooling units and,
  • A more convenient set of furniture.

The installation of the above has further beautified the old premises which now exhibits a more techie look and aesthetics.
