Starlink Now Active In Nigeria

Elon Musk Bringing His Internet Service, Starlink To Nigeria

Starlink is now active in Nigeria for Nigerians to use.  By being available in Nigeria, the country has become the first African country to receive the service.

SpaceX disclosed this on Tuesday. According to a tweet by the company and shared by Twitter CEO, Elon Musk, Nigerians can now enjoy the services.

Customers had preordered for the service’s starter kits some weeks back.

According to SpaceX, the Starlink’s starter kits sells for $600 for the hardware and $43 per month for subscriptions to its  services.

In a tweet, SpaceX said, “Starlink is now available in Nigeria – the first African country to receive service.”

How To preorder for Starlink services:

SpaceX has  given guidelines on how to preorder  for Starlink. On its website, the company said prospective users can even preorder Starking

According to the company, Starlink’s hardware  available for N274,098, the subscription would be at a price of N19,260.

“Starlink is currently available in your area. Customers in your region typically see download speeds of 50-200 Mbps. No contracts, 30-day trial,” the company said.

“Shipping times are currently estimated to be 1 to 2 weeks from order… N19,260/month for service and N274,098 for hardware.”

Meanwhile, the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, had confirmed the coming of Elon Musk’s network service.

According to him,  “Based on the National Broadband Plan, we were to have 90 per cent broadband coverage by December 2025.

“However, we recently gave a license to Starlink to provide services, and this has given us 100% coverage, about 3 years ahead of schedule.”
