The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has removed misinformation about COVID-19 from its website.
The COVID-19 misinformation includes rumours stating that the virus can spread through the air.
It also said that it travels farther than six-feet.
Statements also stating that the virus spreads to people when they inhale dust and dirt.
However, this is not scientifically proven.
This update on its website was added some days ago from a document titled “How COVID-19 Spreads”.
There is now a banner at the website saying such information is an error.
These outrageous rumours have been spreading for months with people disregarding CDC recommendations on being safe.
This makes a lot of people believe that staying in an indoor ventilated room or wearing a mask is more important than observing social distancing.
People’s Reaction
United States Senator, Brian Schatz reacting to the new update said, it is very likely a scandal.
Only God knows why he said that.
American physician, Ashish K. Jha, tweeted that:
“Extraordinary to see @CDCgov finally acknowledge what scientists like @linseymarr @j_g_allen been saying for months.
SARS-CoV2 mainly spreads via inhalation of droplets & aerosols. Maybe the superb CDC scientists are finally un-muzzled? We can hope”.

Do experts believe in this?
According to researchers, the only way a person can contract the virus is when a sick person sneezes and the droplets get to the person close to him/her.
As time goes on, different researches have indicated that there are various ways the virus can spread, including via aerosols.
An aerosol is a suspension of fine solid particles or liquid droplets in air or another gas.
The CDC and the WHO has not entirely changed its recommendations concerning the virus.
I guess not until it sees evidence that can prove its recommendations otherwise.
Irrespective of what CDC and WHO thinks, public health specialists will not change their mind about COVID-19.
The experts have been emphasizing on the importance of ventilation for months.
If, for whatever reason, the CDC and the WHO changes their mind, this will impact everyone.
The way they will view the virus will be different.
U.S physician, Abraar Karan said,
“W/ that being said— we have #covid19 outbreaks that already suggest aerosol-based spread; more important is how much/when/where/what to do”.

Some health organisations ignore scientific advice
The New York Times recently reported that the Department of Health and Human Services ignored scientific advice given by the WHO and CDC.
It also published a guideline on the CDC website saying that people without symptoms don’t need to undergo any test.
This is outrightly against the public health organisation.
There are still more updates coming in. We, however, do not know when CDC will post the new updates.
