#LekkiTollMassacre: MTN Apologies For Service Challenges
On the night of what has been termed the ‘Lekki Massacre,’ MTN took to its Twitter account to apologise for the service challenges faced.

MTN apologises for service challenges
Recall that during the peaceful protest, the Nigerian Army attacked Lekki protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate.
This led to injuries and the death of many during the late hours of Tuesday.
Reportedly, witnesses were deprived of sending out crucial information from the scene because the network service was off.

However, in its statement, MTN said that it was due to the loss of auxiliary power supply at its hub site in the area.
It promised to fix the problem as soon as possible.
The apology came in hours later after the network was criticised and accused as conspirators in the Lekki massacre.
A telecom service engineer took to his page to disagree with the written statement by MTN.
He said: “The hub’s power couldn’t go off completely as there was a backup to pick up if the main source dies.”
Am a telecom equipment installer. It is a lie, I have done multiple installation for MTN via Huawei nation wide. When the main source of power fail, the back up DC picks up and these back up DC have a depth of Discharge of 70%, so a hub can be up

For 6hours before it eventually goes down completely. Besides every hub site have two generating sets. These generators are services regularly. So @MTN180 should not insult us. We are heavy hearted. @MTN180 are culprit too
